Porvorim (Goa)  All the 42 passengers on board a passenger cruise vessel were rescued after the ship brushed against the Casino vessel which was anchored in River Mandovi near here.

The incident happened at around 6.30 pm. when state tourism department recognized cruise vessel was ferrying the passengers in River Mandovi. The cruise vessel was carrying 42 tourists on it.

“The cruise vessel developed a technical snag and got drifted in the water  dashing against the casino vessel which was anchored,” a police official said.

Marine Police were rushed to the spot who used ladder to shift the passengers from cruise ship to the casino and then ferried to the shore by small boats, he said.
