AAP today questioned the Margao Municipal Council’s (MMC) and the Government’s silence on the alleged scam of engaging less workers but drawing more amounts from the treasury by fraudulently showing more workers.

AAP spokesperson Siddhart Karapurkar said that an FIR should have been registered and all involved put behind bars.

Karapukar further questioned why the same contractor from outside the state has been allowed to collect garbage from several wards in many municipalities. “Goa should know how the nexus between councillors, officials and the contractor is draining the money paid as taxes into the municipal drainage system,” he said.

“It’s a pity that money is siphoned off even in the name of waste. Lok Ayukta should show its presence in the State by taking suo moto cognisance of the issue as the Government vigilance Department is in Coma for the past many years of the BJP and their partner ‘s rule,” added Karapurkar.

The AAP leader further reminded the people that nothing will change unless common people force a change electorally and take over from the political quacks masquerading as doctors.

AAP said that they would write to the Lok Ayukta if no action comes forth from the Governmental machinery as the stakes involved are high.
