The second function to reward Traffic Sentinel who have accumulated 100 or more points will be held this evening, over 45 days after the first batch of 20 volunteers against traffic violations were felicitated under the scheme.

Director General of Police Dr Muktesh Chander, the brain behind the scheme said the second batch consists of 17 Traffic Sentinels who would be awarded this evening at police head quarters.

“The main aim of the Traffic Sentinel Scheme is to increase the compliance of traffic laws and to reduce Motor Vehicle Accidents and fatalities. Goa Traffic Police calls upon all the citizens to actively participate in the scheme and help Goa Police in making Goan roads safer,” he said.

The 4-month old Scheme has garnered huge response from the general public.
