Pranav Rao Gandham and Tasnim Mir emerged Under 15 Boys and Girls singles winners, at the Sub Junior All India Badminton Ranking Championship organised by Goa Badminton Association in collaboration with Margao Shuttlers Club and the Sports Authority of Goa, at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda, Margao.
Goa’s Tanisha Crasto played well to reach the Under 15 Girls singles finals, but had no energy left in her legs as she succumbed to a 14-21, 14-21 defeat to Gujarat’s Tasnim Mir. This was her second consecutive Silver medal in the singles category and third overall at All India level.
The championship evoked a good response with a record 2056 entries received during the 7 day-long event which was conducted under the aegis of Badminton Association of India and supported by the Sports Authority of Goa.
Digamber Kamat, Ex Chief Minister of Goa and Margao City MLA, was the Chief Guest for the closing function. GBA President Narahar Thakur, Secretary Sandeep Heble, Margao Shuttlers Club’s President Vaman Fallary, Organising Secretary Oscar Silveira and Championship Referee Milind Deshmukh graced the prize distribution occasion. Vinayak Kamat and Roy Ataide represented the Sports Authority of Goa.
