GOA: ALL PARTY MEETING ON MINING TODAY

A crucial all party meeting is been called by government to work out solution to the iron ore mining problem, which is going to hit hard with suspension of operations from March 16. 

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has directed Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant and PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar to hold meeting and take everyone’s view. 

The meeting will be held today evening. 

BJP, MGP, Goa Forward and Independents along with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be part of the meeting.

Supreme Court via an order dated February 7, quashed second renewals granted to 88 iron ore mining leases, while directing them to stop operations after March 15. State and Central government are directed to initiate fresh process for granting leases.

 Dr Sawant confirmed that all party meeting is been today to work out solution to the mining crisis.
