GOA: ANURA TAKES SILVER AND BRONZE AT ALL INDIA SENIOR RANKING BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

Anura Prabhu Desai of Goa clinched Bronze in senior women’s singles and a Silver in Senior Women’s Doubles at the All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2017 at Bangalore.

 In women’s singles, Anura reached semi-finals by defeating Shruti Mundada 21-16 21-17. In the semis, she lost against G. Vrushali 21-11, 21-12 and settled for Bronze. In women’s doubles, Anura along with her partner Haritha MH defeated Mahima Aggarwal and Sanjana Santosh 21-17 8-21 21-19 to reach the semi-finals. In the semis, they won over the 1st seeded pair of Agna Anto and Sneha Santhilal 14-21 23-21 25-23. Anura could not play in the finals as she was participating in the Danisa Denmark Super Series Premier Championship.
