Goa BJP Vice-President and Chairman of the OBC Corporation Anil Hoble and his family are expected to be charge-sheeted within the next two days in the dowry harassment and assault case.
The women police station has submitted to the Judicial Magistrate First Class that it will submit a charge-sheet against the family on charges of allegedly grievously assaulting and injuring his daughter-in-law and harassing her parents with persistent dowry demands.
After this submission was made by Public Prosecutor Clarita Simoes, JMFC Vijayalaxmi Shivolkar adjourned to October 12 the hearing on the petition filed by victim’s mother Suchitra Shirodkar who represented by Advocate Aires Rodrigues seeking Court directions to the police to properly investigate the case as the accused was politically very influential.
Acting on a complaint filed by Suchitra over the harassment and torture meted out to her daughter, the Women Police Station on July 12 booked Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind under Sections 498-A, 323, 506(ii) read with  34 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prevention Act.
Hoble and his family had been denying allegations stating alleging the victim-in-question was in fact caught having extra marital affair with another man, and filed a complaint to silence the husband’s family.
