Panaji (Goa) The initial trends were clear that both the BJP candidates were marching towards victory in Panaji and Valpoi constituencies.

Manohar Parrikar had gained lead of around 4,200 votes after the two rounds while Vishwajit Rane was leading by 3,000 votes. Not a single time, their rival overtook them during the counting.

What is significant is that Goa Suraksha Manch which was supposed to make an impact in Panaji constituency is nowhere even as NOTA votes were more than that polled by its candidate Anand Shirodkar.

The initial results indicate that the state government remains firm in saddle with congress’ plans to form the government coming crashing down.

We will bring you the updates as and when they come.
