At the end the fourth round of BPS All Goa open rapid FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2018,
WGM. Bhakti Kulkarni (elo 2305) continued to lead with an outright win over Akhilesh Nigalye .
Adv. Kantak beat Sahil Desai ,Anirudh Bhat beat Saish Ulhas Fondekar,Wilson Cruz beat Ayush Shetkar,Ayush Shirodkar got the better off Brendan Peroz, Gunjal Chopdekar overcame Joy Kakodkar and Devesh Anand Naik beat Sairaj Dilip Vernekar to lead jointly with top seed Bhakti Kulkarni on 4 points. There are totally 184 players out of which 67 are FIDE rated. The Tournament is conducted by BPS Sports club along with Salcete Taluka Chess Association and the prizes are sponsored by M/s. Prakash Corrugated Products, Verna. A bounty of prizes await the winners including cash prizes of Rs. 50,000/- and Trophies.
The tournament is played under Swiss league basis consisting of 9 rounds at the BPS sports club premises. Earlier in the day Mr.Rakesh Agarwal inaugurated the Tournament by making the first move against WGM Bhakti Kulkarni in the presence of Mr.Prasad Chitnis,Vice President BPS Club,Inkarl Alvares,Asst. Treasurer BPS Club, Ashesh Keni,President STCA and Damodar Zambaulikar,Secretary STCA , players and parents and others. Tomorrow is the final day and the Prize distribution function will be held at 4:00 pm.
