Panaji (Goa): Transport Minister Ramakrishna Dhawalikar today announced construction of ultra-modern ‘Bus Port’ at Margao

Dhawalikar said that the new bus stand project of 2009, awarded to Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) would be withdrawn.

Margao Congress MLA Digamber Kamat raised the question as when the Government intends to start the construction of new bus stand for the city, the foundation stone for which was laid on October 6, 2011

Kamat said that on an average 1.05 lakh passengers use the existing KTC bus stand on daily basis, with nearly 566 buses entering and moving out daily.

“Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways have come up with new scheme called Bus Port in lines with Airport. We will replicate the concept in Margao with support from Central government,” Minister said.
