Escalating the issue of massive land fill using debris at Caranzalem beach in full public view using heavy earthmoving machinery, AAP said that the entire officialdom was looking the other way as the work was carried out on behalf of a minister. “ “The CCP, PDA, CZMA have been sedated by giving them lollipops to suck. The IAS commissioner who was deputed to ‘solve’ problems has exhibited his incompetency to act. It’s anarchy” said AAP leader Valmiki Naik.

 

Claiming that Caranzalem beach was now like a slum with the proliferation of illegal hutments and mass open defecation side by side with the questionable construction of buildings, Naik questioned whether this was part of the smart city project for Panaji. “ We demand that the CS orders a symbolic cut in the commissioner’s salary for dereliction of duty. Let them be shamed for being in a puppet show” said Naik
