Panaji (Goa): The policy to shift off-shore casino vessels out of River Mandvoi will be announced next month, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said today.

Parrikar said that government will bring in an amendment to the Gambling Act in a bid to facilitate the policy during the forthcoming Budget Session in February.

“The casino policy is ready. I will be circulating it to my cabinet colleagues and will declare it next month,” he said.

Chief Minister said that the policy, which will include formation of Gaming Commission, will set guidelines for amendment of Goa Public Gambling Act.

There are currently five off shore casino vessels operational in River Mandovi.
