Panaji (Goa) Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will leave to Mumbai for his treatment in the afternoon. Ahead of his visit, the chief minister has formed cabinet advisory committee which will guide the State administration.
From Mumbai, Parrikar will be flying to the US for his further treatment.
Parrikar has been ill since last month and was first admitted in Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and then Goa Medical College and Hospital.
“Today Honerable chief minister is travelling to Mumbai for further medical checkup and based on doctor’s advice may travel overseas for further treatment,” chief minister’s office has said in a statement issued here.
Ahead of his Mumbai visit, Parrikar called meeting of group of his senior ministers at his personal residence at Dona Paula near here. BJP’s Francis D’Souza and Goa Forward Party’s Vijai Sardesai were part of the meeting.
Sardesai told reporters that chief minister has formed the cabinet advisory committee comprising of Dhavalikar, D’Souza and himself which will advice the state administration.
“The financial sanctions of more than Rs 50 lakh would be sanctioned by this committee. Such a mechanism is worked out to avoid paralysis of administration in absence of the chief minister,” Sardesai said.
The chief minister also held meeting of senior bureacrats including chief secretary Dharmendra Sharma and senior police officers including Director General of Police Muktesh Chandar.
