Panaji (Goa) State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has warned action against Spas which are involved in prostitution racket. He also said that the committee would be formed to monitor these facilities.

“As far as Spa is concerned we re amending Public Health Act. We will cancel the licences of the Spas which are involved in prostitution,” Rane told reporters today.

He said that a committee comprising of Collector North Nila Mohanan, Superintendent of Police (North) Chandan Chaudhury and social workers will be formed to monitor the working of these Spas.

“We have been giving licences to the spas for massage but we won’t tolerate prostitution. This is important issue. Some Spas are exploiting women which would not be tolerated,” he said.

The minister said that a Spa which is operating from Dona Paula is running a prostitution racket whose licence would be cancelled immediately.
