Panaji (GOA): The Congress legislators are all set to corner the BJP-led coalition government during the 15-day long monsoon session beginning from Tuesday.
The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) on Monday morning held meeting to decide strategy to corner government on various issues like desecration, shifting of offshore casinos, drugs, prostitution, thefts, etc.
Congress is set to raise the issue demanding withdrawal of Government circular wherein it has banned concerned departmental officials from visiting the MLAs residents or offices for holding meetings.
Addressing reporters post meeting, Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavalekar said that there are several issues on which we are going to target government. “Government has failed on almost all fronts, right from governance to maintaining law and order situation. We will demand answer from Chief Minister,” he said.
“We don’t want people to blame us for creating ruckus in House and stalling the assembly session. Hence, we want government to be prepared on these issues,” Congress leader said.
Congress has 16 MLAs in the 38 member state assembly at present.
