Shantaram Naik ex- MP and President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee in a  statement issued by him,  has strongly condemned the police lathi charge against agitators against the mining closure affected persons.

Naik said he wanted to know whether the lathi charge orders were issued from New York. Otherwise let the minister who has taken the responsibility of Home portfolio from the Mr Manohar Parrikar , the Chief Minister of Goa, come forward to claim the responsibility of the illegal and unconstitutional order.

Naik said that whether Goa police had consulted any of three ministers before carrying on with the illegal lathi charge ?

Naik wanted to know whether Criminal Procedure Code in Force in the State of Goa has extra-territorial jurisdiction?
