PANAJI (GOA): Panaji Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vijayalaxmi Shivolkar today fixed August 3 for the arguments on the petition filed by Suchitra Shirodkar, mother of Anil Hoble’s daughter-in-law, seeking a Court monitored investigation into the criminal case registered against Goa BJP vice president and chairman of OBC corporation Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind.
Stating that the investigation of the case was at a preliminary stage, women’s police PSI Sandhya Gupta in her written reply submitted to the JMFC today has stated that the statements of the victim along with the connected witnesses have been recorded and that the investigation does not need to be monitored by the Court.
Suchitra Shirodkar, represented by Adv. Aires Rodrigues, in her petition to the JMFC has submitted that the investigating officer of the case PSI Sandhya Gupta has been derailing the investigation because the accused Anil Hoble is politically well connected being the vice-president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
Drawing the Court’s attention that based on her complaint an F.I.R was registered on July 12 against Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind under Sections 498-A, 323, 506(ii) read with 34 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prevention Act, Suchitra Shirodkar in her petition stated that she apprehends that the investigation by PSI Sandhya Gupta will be shoddy to shield the politically well connected accused Anil Hoble and his family.
Pointing out that PSI Sandhya Gupta who does not have a clean track record as a police officer was not carrying out the investigation in accordance with the law, Suchitra Shirodkar has sought directions to the police to investigate the case against Anil Hoble and family properly and that the Court should monitor the investigation as the accused are politically very influential.
