Amona (Goa) In a tragic accident, engineer Umesh Pradhan working at Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore Company died while attending the duty at its plant in Amona, 30 kms away from here.

“Engineer Umesh Pradhan died in an accident while he was attending the maintenance activity at the conveyor carrying the coal at the Met Coke Division on Sunday  evening,” company’s Chief Operating Officer Sauvick Mazumdar said.

“All of us are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague Umesh Pradhan. It is the most unfortunate thing to happen. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this most difficult time,” he said.

Mazumdar said that the company is offering support to the family in the immediate aftermath of this tragic event.

“Our people are our most valuable assets and we are doing everything possible to assist the local authorities. The detail investigation is in progress,” he said.
