GOA: FDA CONFISCATES POP-CORNS MADE OF EXPIRED RAW MATERIAL IN PONDA

Ponda (Goa): The Food Safety Officers of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration; Bambolim inspected the premises of M/s. Jay Dev Food Products situated at Dattagard, Bethoda, Ponda Goa on 24/01/2018 in the presence of the proprietor of the Firm Shri Sukhdev Bhandari. The Firm was found manufacturing and packing the product Pop Corn. It was found that the Food Business Operators had stocked 275 bags of 30 kg each of the raw material used for making the Pop Corns and finished Pop Corn product comprised of 163 bags . Same was also confiscated which was found manufactured using the above expired raw materials which had expired in January, 2017.

The above stock was later destroyed with the help of Ponda Municipality.

The inspection was conducted by the Food Safety Officers, Shivdas Naik, Rajaram Patil, Shailesh Shenvi, Atul Dessai and Madhav Kavlekar alongwith Assistant Chemists, Pundalik Gawade and Shankar Nimbalkar and drivers Sudit Naik and Pradeep Parsekar and Attendant, Sudhakar Parsekar.
