Panaji (Goa): Mr Shantaram Naik ex-MP and President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee have said that Madhya Pradesh Government should register an FIR against Hindu Mahasabha leaders and charge them of an offence of sedition, for constructing a temple at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, devoted to Nathuram Godse, killer of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr Naik said that all those leaders who are prima facie involved in the construction activities of a temple , directly or indirectly, should be arrested by police and their custodial interrogation has to be sought.
Mr Naik further said that role of BJP leaders of Madhya Pradesh, including of, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chavan in the matter, should also be investigated and FIR should also be registered against them.
Mr Naik said that the construction of temple could not have been done overnight, and that, the authorities which gave construction licence and the employees of Town and Country
Planning Department who gave NOC to the project, are equally guilty and the investigating agencies have to seek a warrant of arrest against them from the concerned magistrate.
Mr Naik said that investigating agencies should also find out whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is actively campaigning in Gujrath, the land of Gandhiji, nowadays, was aware of the construction of a temple.
Mr Naik said that the Union Government, which is presently drafting a New Education Policy for the country should restrain the members of the drafting committee, from praising Godse in any form, in the policy document.
