Vasco (Goa) Go Air flight which was flying between Cochin to Mumbai with 164 people on board made emergency landing at Goa airport on Wednesday evening, airport officials confirmed.
“The aircraft had met with some technical issues due to which it had to make emergency landing yesterday evening. All the passengers on board are safe and landing was done as per proper procedure,” Goa Airport Director B C H Negi said.
The airport sources claimed that the aircraft had developed snag in its right engine due to which it sought permission to land at Goa airport.
“The permission was sought from naval air traffic controller as the airport is managed by Indian Navy for emergency landing with one engine,” he said.
All the emergency services were kept stand by,” he said.
Total 164 passengers were on board the flight.
