Panaji (Goa): The Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Manohar Parrikar will be the cynosure of all eyes as the three-day, Goa BizFest 2018 kicks off at the Shyama Prasad Mukherji stadium at Bambolim on February 8.
Organised jointly by the BNI-Goa region and the GEMS Trust with the support of the Government of Goa and the NRB Group, the three-day, Goa Bizfest (GBF) 2018 in its third edition is expected to attract more than 5,000 people.
Addressing the media in the city on Tuesday, Rajkumar Kamat, executive director, BNI Goa region said that the CM would share his views on the topic: ‘Goa Vision 2022’ at 4 pm on February 9th, the second day of the three day event, which arguably is the largest business convention being held in Goa. State IT and Labour minister, Rohan Khaunte will inaugurate the event at 945am on Thursday, 8th of February.
According to Kamat, the prominent speakers at the GBF 2018 include, Padma Bhushan Ajai Chowdhry, co-founder, HCL company and chairman of the board, IIT-Patna, Norm Dominguez, vice chairman emeritus, BNI Global, Shubhvilas Das, popular author and motivational speaker, Ajay Thakur, president, BSE-SME Exchange, Srinivas Dempo, chairman, Dempo Group, Narayan Bandekar, chairman, NRB Group, M Anand, principal counsellor, Indian Green Building Council, Gautam Goradia, chairman, ComSur, Gaurav Singhvi, executive director, BNI-Surat, GC Mishra, chief, fire services, Delhi, besides leading industrialists and bureaucrats from Goa.
Kamat said that the key objective of the GBF 2018 was to come together and work towards creating employment and employability in the state of Goa and the organisers were being supported in this endeavour by the Government of Goa, the NRB Group, CKC Jewellers and several leading brands.
Kamat said that the GBF 2018 was a three-day event for the very first time and was being executed in association with organisations like the Goa Technology Association (GTA), CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India), IIA ( Indian Institute of Architects), GCCI ( Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries), GSIA ( Goa State Industries Association), NIPM (National Institute of Personnel Management), FSAI ( Fire and Security association of India) and TTAG ( Travel and Tourism association of Goa).
Manoj Patil, president, GEMS Trust who also addressed the media said that the three-day business convention was split into several interesting verticals which include, knowledge summits, the start-up conclave, the career and job fair and the biz expo with its 100-plus trade stalls.
According to Patil, the technology section on the first morning would see sessions on topics such as ‘opportunities in emerging technologies’ and ‘Goa, the next tech hub’, while the afternoon will see the much awaited GEMS ‘entrepreneur of the year’ award being announced in five categories and a session on ‘scaling up your business’.
Vinay Verma, chairman, GBF organising committee, who was also present said that day two would begin with sessions on ‘safe and secure Goa’ and ‘clean, green and smart cities’ under the construction and tourism section. The same afternoon will see the Goa CM Shri Parrikar share his thoughts on ‘Goa’s Vision 2022’ and conclude with a session on ‘business beyond boundaries’. The third and last day will see project presentations being made by start-ups, concluding with a function in which awards will be announced for the most deserving projects.
According to Verma, the Biz Expo with its 100-plus trade stalls and the job and career fair would run con-currently with the other sessions. These will include an industry and academic interaction and workshops on industry projects with available funding options.
