Panaji (Goa): Superintendent of Police Karthik Kashyap is a worried man. He is worried about the self goal by his own personnel or players who play for other team. The circular is now issued debarring them from playing for other teams other than Goa Police.

“It has been noticed that police personnel from Goa Police or India Reserve Batallion are playing in various sporting tournament without permission and sometimes they even compete against official Team of Goa Police,” Kashyap has said in a circular issued yesterday.

“This causes great embarrassment to the department when its own players play in opposite team without permission of Goa Police Sports Cell or the Controlling Officer,” he has added.

In view of the above situation, the department has issued guidelines which has said that “none of the player or police personnel will play in any sporting event without taking prior permission from controlling officer.”

The department has also said that “none of the players, police personnels will play in the division or state championship wherein Goa Police team is officially playing in that tournament.”

Kashyap has said that if any player are found disobeying the guidelines, then it will be considered as an act of indiscipline and dim fit action will be taken against them.”
