Goa’s young basketball player, Shaun Aranjo, has been selected by a Spanish basketball academy to get advanced training in basketball. At 18, Shaun, one of Goa’s top players, has been consistently winning State titles in Juniors as well as Seniors category groups with his teams, and is the first Goan player to be selected by the prestigious academy based in Spain.
Shaun was the leading scorer among all the teams which participated at the 33rd Youth National Basketball championships held in 2016 in Hassan, Karnataka where the Goa Team emerged runners-up in the second tier knock-out held under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India.
Shaun was felicitated for his excellent performances in Basketball, during the State Junior Basketball championships 2018 organised by Panjim Basketeers Club in collaboration with the Goa Basketball Association. Shaun is likely to leave for Spain later this month.
