Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to return to India in the second week of April from the USA where he is currently taking the treatment for his pancreatic disease, official sources stated.

Parrikar had left for the Mumbai in the first week of March from where he went to the USA for his further treatment.

“Parrikar is responding positive for the treatment in the USA. His all parameters are normal and he would be taking treatment for another fortnight there before coming back to India,” a senior official from BJP’s Goa unit said.

He said that there is no clarity on whether chief minister might continue his check up at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after that or may come to Goa.

Parrikar who was diagnosed with the mild pancreatitis was initially admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai from where he got discharged and returned to the State to present the Budget on February 21.

After spending couple of days at home, he was later admitted in Goa Medical college and hospital from where he went back to Lilavati on March 5 and from there he was taken to the USA.

Parrikar, in his absence, has formed Cabinet Advisory Committee which will guide the State administration on governance. The Committee comprising of Sudin Dhavalikar (MGP), Francis D’Souza (BJP) and Vijai Sardesai (Goa Forward Party) has met once since its formation.
