Porvorim (Goa): One of the longest serving directors in the government, Prasad Lolyekar has finally been moved to another department. After serving as the Director of Art & Culture for 15 long years, he has been transferred to the Directorate Higher Education as its Director in an order issued today.
In the major reshuffle of the high ranking bureaucrats, the State government has also appointed the former Additional Collector and ex-Commissioner of Panaji Corporation Deepak Desai as the Director of the Directorate of Women & Child Development. Desai was awaiting posting for nearly a month after he was abruptly shunted from the Corporation.
The Prison’s Department has now got a full time Inspector General of Prisons, the portfolio that was allotted to Siddhivinayak Naik as additional charge. The Additional Director of Panchayat – II Rajendra Mirajkar will hold the IGP charge with additional charge of additional IGP. The department did not have a full time IGP after Goa Civil Service cadre officer Elvis Gomes took voluntary retirement to join politics last year.
The other transferred officers include Director (Admn) Goa Medical College Sanjiv Gadkar who has been posted as Registrar of Cooperative Societies while Gurudas Pilarnkar will replace Lolyekar as Director of Art & Culture. Director of NRI Melvyn Vaz has been given the charge as Secretary of Goa State Election Commission and is replaced by Superintendent of Central Jail, Colvale Shamsundar Parab. Chief Officer (CO) of the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Deepali Naik is posted as the Joint Secretary (Protocol) whereas Agnelo Fernandes who was awaiting posting in Senior Scale will replace her as the MMC CO. The transfer order issued by the under secretary of the personnel department Shashank Thakur has also named few other officers shifting from their present place of posting to new ones.
