Panaji (Goa) Following a complaint by a group of girls from North Eastern states working in Goa that they are forced to give ‘cross massage’ in the parlours, Health department has decided to take stringent action including cancellation of the licences.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the department has geared up after it received several complaints and a detailed memorandum signed by 30 girls from North Eastern States claiming that they were forced to give ‘cross massages.’

Goa has banned cross massages in which girl gives massage to a boy or vice versa under State health act.

Rane said that the State government will form a special squad along with Police department which will raid the massage parlours and if found violating the law would suspend their licences.

He said that the memorandum submitted by the girls have mentioned names of 15 parlours including two prominent ones located in Panaji city while rest are in coastal belt of Calangute, Candolim, Vasco and Colva.

“In the name of massages, there are lot of illegalities that happens in the parlours including prostitution. We will never tolerate such activities and hence have decided to crack down on it,” the minister said.

Rane said that the health department has also issued warning to parlours located in five star hotels that their licences too will be cancelled, if they are found violating the law.

“At no cost, we can allow the Health Act to be violated in the State,” Rane said.
