Panaji (Goa) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has demanded to the North Goa Collector to ban the illegal sale of Chinese fire crackers on the occasion of Dipawali . HJS has handed over a memorandum on 13th October in this regards to the NG Collector.
Memorandum says that, a large consignment of Chinese Crackers has been brought into the country. Mixture of the chemicals namely Potassium Chloride and Potassium per-chloride are used in the production of these crackers; but there is a ban on the use of these chemicals in Bharat.
Therefore, although these Chinese crackers are cheap, they pollute the atmosphere very badly. Bharat Government has banned the sale of these crackers on the occasion of Dipawali.
According to the ‘Explosives Act 2008’ to have the foreign made explosive material and to sell the same is a cognizable offense. Delhi Government too has put a complete ban on Chinese crackers. Despite this ban, the Chinese crackers are brought into Bharat illegally and are being sold.
Hence the Government should ban this sale immediately and take stringent action on those involved in this illegal sale. It is also being noticed that pictures of national heroes and Deities are printed on the covers of some crackers and when these crackers are burnt the torn pictures too get strewn all over.
They are trodden by the passing by they lie in gutters, garbage etc. Such a denigration of national heroes and Deities hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. This is also an attack on our identity. The Government should stop the sale of such crackers.
