Porvorim (Goa): Goa Legislative Assembly’s Committee of Privileges has summoned RTI activist Kashinath Shetye on Monday, November 20 in connection with the complained filed against him.
Under Secretary (Legislature) Ligia Godinho has asked Shetye to remain present before the committee on November 20 at 3.30 at State Legislative Assembly complex.
“Whereas a complaint raising alleged breach of privilege on your part has been referred to the committee of privileges and the said committee is seized of the matter, you are hereby summoned to appear in person, without fail before the committee on Monday, November 20,” the notice which was signed on November 16 reads.
The 49-year-old anti corruption campaigner had allegedly released a question on a social media, related to him which was tabled on the floor of the House before the last Goa Legislative assembly session could begin.
BJP legislator Nilesh Cabral who had moved the question had raised the objection as the question and the answer was put up on social media allegedly by Shetye before it was tabled o the floor of the House.
The issue was also raised during the recently held assembly session wherein Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had assured to launch inquiry through vigilance department against Shetye.
