The State Excise department officials on Tuesday seized a tempo transporting Goa-made foreign liquor worth Rs 28.

27 lakh on Ajara-Gadhinglaj road in Ajara tehsil of the district and arrested a 40-year-old man in this connection.

 

Acting on a tip-off, a flying squad of Excise department officials from the district today stopped a suspected tempo on Ahajra-Gadhinglaj road and recovered Goa-made foreign liquor worth Rs 28.27lakh from it during the search.

 

They also confiscated the tempo used for transportation.
