Panaji (Goa) Although United India Insurance Company which handles the DDSSY scheme has revoked the temporary suspension on Manipal Hospital to entertainment patients under this flagship project, the firm has said that they are still keeping a close watch on the hospital.
A senior insurance company official Sanjay Khare said that the hospital was found overcharging the patients who were referred under DDSSY which is not permissible.
The random samples of the patients who were treated under this scheme at Manipal were drawn and it was found that the hospital was charging them.
The show cause notice was issued to the hospital on December 01, while on the same day responding to the notice, the hospital management has given an undertaking that they will not charge the patients, he said.
The company has now kept a close monitoring of the happenings under this scheme at Manipal Hospital, and if they are found to be breaching the assurance given in the letter, the suspension would be imposed.

We are beginning with Manipal and rest hospitals will also be taken to the task, he said.
