Porvorim (Goa) Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar after getting discharged from the hospital in Mumbai attended the State cabinet meeting upon his arrival in the State.
Parrikar arrived in the State hours before presentation of State Budget in the legislative assembly. From the airport he went directly to his residence in Panaji before arriving at the assembly complex.
Chief minister arrived at the assembly complex around 2 p.m. during the lunch break of the session. The media was kept at a distance from him, with the entire area being cordoned off.
Parrikar later rushed to the State cabinet meeting which approved the Budget which would be presented in the assembly this afternoon.
The chief minister was admitted in Lilavati hospital in Mumbai on February 15 after he suffered from pancreatitis. He remained admitted there with concerns being raised about his health.
The ruling coalition had empowered senior minister and MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar to take over the responsibility of Parrikar in his absence.
Dhavalikar was supposed to present the budget on the floor of the House but in a surprising development, Parrikar was discharged from Lilavati hospital and he arrived with chartered flight at state’s lone Dabolim airport.
