Panaji (Goa): Goa medical college and hospital would be one of the few institutions in the country to have National Accreditation Board for Testing and Callibration Laboratories (NABL).
“The state public health department today directed the dean of Goa medical college and hospital to start the process of accreditation NABL ISO for the labouratories in its premises,” state health minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters today.
“The process to have the accreditation will be started shortly and to be completed in 18 months,” he said.
Rane said the GMCH once successfully completing this process of getting accreditation will be one of the few institutes in the countries run by the government to get it.
“The accreditation will help in streamlining the facilities in the blood bank and the laboratories in GMCH with proper systems in place just like a centre of excellence,” he said.
