The Shiv Sena unit of Goa has submitted a memorandum to withdraw the trekking event on Feb 13. According to the prerss release issued, Feb 13 is a public holiday on the occasion of Mahashivratri, but the principal of Govt. College of Arts & Science, Quepem, Joydeep Bhattacharjee and one of the faculty members of geography department have announced Feb 13 as Trekking Day.
Due to the festival of Mahashivratri, many families residing in Sanguem, Quepem and Salcete taluka visit Chandranath temple at Paroda in huge numbers, therefore the Shiv Sena Unit of Goa has submitted a memorandum to the principal of Govt. College of Arts & Science, Quepem, to withdraw the said trekking event on Feb 13.
