Margao (Goa)
The video of former state tourism minister Francisco Miccky Pacheco abusing a person who was clicking his act of driving the car on the beach has surfaced.
The former minister, however, has said that he had not abused the person but instead was irritated with him because he was chasing him on the beach stretch.
The video that has gone viral shows the former tourism minister who is sitting along with his friends on a beach shack at Utorda in South Goa is verbally abusing the person who was shooting the video.
The person, who was later identified as Melroy D’Souza, is also seen questioning the conduct of the former minister.
The video running around five minutes shows the car of the former minister on the beach stretch, which is not allowed as per the local laws.
“I was irritated with Melroy D’Souza as he was chasing me in his jeep all along the road and came on the beach. He had brought his own jeep on the beach along with my vehicle,” Pacheco told reporters in Margao today.
He said that the person was his ‘political rival’ and was having ‘Portuguese nationality’. “He had no business to chase me. If you see the video, he has also abused me. I even went up to him asking him to stop and have conversation with me, but he just ran away saying ‘catch me if you can,” said the former minister.
D’Souza in his post on the facebook has claimed that Pacheco threatened him and even tried to run his vehicle over him.
Pacheco was in the past jailed for six months after being convicted for slapping a government servant on duty.
