The photos of a young lady constable -who recently ended her life – with an unknown man in an alleged offensive position has gone viral prompting a local NGO to file a police complaint demanding punishment against the guilty. 

 

In a complaint filed at Crime Branch this morning, NGO Savera stated that circulation of nude photos, suspected to be of LPC Harshala Parsekar is defaming her family and particularly the deceased’s unmarried sister.  

 

“…after her death nude photos of Parsekar along with an unknown male is being circulated on social media like Facebook, whats app, etc… She has left behind a family which has an unmarried sister, circulation of such photos is bringing ill respect to the family members and especially to the unmarried sister,” the one page complaint letter to CB states. 

 

The 20-year-year new recruit was posted at Verna police station. She allegedly consumed rat poison over a week back and succumbed four days later. While reason behind taking this extreme step is not ascertained, the NGO alleges she could have been a victim of blackmail. “I fell that unknown male in nude photos could be blackmailing the deceased and she committed suicide under this pressure. Also there is a big possibility that the deceased photos could have been leaked and some other person could have been blackmailing her leading  her to commit suicide, ” NGO President Tara Kerkar said asking CB to probe throughly into the incident also because the department ‘s staff has committed suicide with accused at large.
