GOA: P ANAND HONOURED WITH DILIP SARDESAI SPORTS EXCELLENCE AWARD

International Taekwondo player, P Anand, today was presented with the Dilip Sardesai Sports Excellence Award by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs in a ceremony at The Multipurpose Hall, Department of Art & Culture at Patto in Panaji. Also present on the occasion were Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Manohar Azgaonkar, and Secretary for Sports, B.R. Singh.

26-year-old Anand started his playing career at the Taekwondo Association Coaching Camp at SAG (Sports Authority of Goa) in Ponda. Anand had clinched Bronze in his first ever State Championship in 1999. Till date, he has won 19 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals, and 1 Bronze medal at the national level; and 4 Gold medals, and 4 Bronze medals at the international level.
