Goa government on Wednesday launched website for online registration of ongoing real estate projects under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) across the State.
The registration commenced from January and will continue till February 24. Builders, developers and the real estate agents have to register themselves online and get the RERA registration number.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar launched the RERA website www.rera.goa.gov.in. Minister for Urban Development Francis D’Souza was also present for the launch.
The launch of this platforms means that now the registered builders can promote their upcoming and ongoing real estate projects on the government portal.
“The website will serve the basic purpose of forming an authentic platform for all the projects in the state which will not only immensely help the buyers in getting detailed and authentic information but also help in giving the exact status of the project implementation to the buyers,.” Parrikar said.
The RERA Act, 2016 enacted by the Parliament of India intends to safeguard those buying homes or apartments. The Act came into force on May 1, 2016.
In Goa, the RERA rules were notified in August followed by setting up of Regulatory Authority.
