Panaji (Goa) On account of Dussehra festival, to be celebrated on September 30, the RTO offices across the state will remain open in the morning hours for registration of new vehicles.
In a press statement issued by the Department of Transport, it has been informed that the offices of the Registering Authorities/Asstt. Directors of Transport, Panaji, Mapusa, Bicholim, Ponda, Pernem, Margao, Vasco, Quepem, Canacona and Dharbandora will remain open for the purpose of registration of new vehicles on Saturday.
Dussehra is considered as an auspicious festival to make new purchases, especially of vehicles, therefore, the automobile showrooms remain open on that day. The auto dealers said they expect an increase in sales.
Last year, the Directorate of Transport had earned a whopping Rs 3.32 crore from 1581 vehicles’ registration.
