GOA: SALVOR DRAFTING LUCKY 7’S TOWING PLAN TO JAIGAD

Miramar (Goa) After successfully re-floating the controversial casino ship MV Lucky 7 into depeer water off Miramar, the international salvor is soon to submit a comprehensive towing plan to the union ministry to sail the vessel to Ratnagiri. 
 
Egypt-based salvor M/s AMS Marine LLC will submit the report to Mercantile Marine Department and Indian Register of Shipping for an approval to go-ahead with the plan. 
 
“The salvaging company will submit the to towing plan to the central government departments in the next two days. Once approved, the vessel will be towed to Jaigad dockyard for permanent repairs,” said an official. Three tug boats, one of which belongs to Captain of Ports department will be pressed into service for the operation. 
 
The ship, owned by politician Gopal Kanda’s M/s Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd, is presently undergoing repairs by a huge team of experts and divers of the international salvage firm. The official said that the repairs including underwater welding is in final stages and likely to be completed today. 
 
The vessel will be brought back to Mandovi River only after it is declared fit. The permanent repairs, the official said, will take around three months. 
 
The ship was sailed in deeper waters after nearly 70 days of hardship. It had ran aground Miramar beach on July 16, damaging the eco system.
