Panaji (Goa)  The Education Department has issued instructions to all government and aided schools to display portraits of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their premises before November 6, when the schools reopen post-Diwali vacation.

The directions come following instructions issued by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar during the recently held meeting with the Head of Departments (HoDs)

As such, the Education department held meetings with the heads of each school directing to put up portrait of the President and Prime Minister in their premises.

Institutions are also asked to display portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkar.

“There are some children who don’t know the name of Prime minister or President. That is part of their educational activity,” official said.
