Porvorim (Goa) The rift between Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and GTDC chairman Nilesh Cabral both of whom are in the ruling camp was exposed wide on the floor of the House today.
Ajgaonkar responding to a question said that he would personally go through the agreement scheduled to be signed with the private hotel to hand over Miramar residency for development and operation. The minister said that he would also investigate all the current agreements with the private players signed by GTDC.
While the minister made this statement, Cabral got up and dared the minister to investigate all the GTDC’s land dealings in the past rather than being selective.
Both the legislators were seen arguing on the floor of the House while opposition benches enjoyed the moments. It was only when Ajgaonkar assured that he will investigate all the dealings even of the past that Cabral sat down.
The differences between Cabral and Ajagaonkar have been simmering since the time new government has been in place. Both the leaders are fighting for higher share in the tourism department.
