GOA SESSION: GOVT TO START EXERCISE TO SCRUTINISE APPLICATION TO REGULARISE 4,200 ILLEGAL STRUCTURES

Porvorim (Goa): Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte told legislative assembly that they have received 4,200 applications to regularize the structure on their private land. The exercise to scrutinize them will start from August 10.

The department has received 4,200 odd applications from various people across the State to get their structures regularized, he said adding that initially only those structures on private land would be taken for scrutiny.

Khaunte told the state legislative assembly during Question Hour assured that “government will not entertain any application for the regularization of structures built in Coastal Regulation Zones, Agriculture lands, Protected forest areas, no development zones or public lands.”

The data tabled on the floor of the House reveals that in all 4229 applications were received by both the district administrations. The applications include 1,984 from North Goa and 2245 in South.

While in South Goa, all the applications are received for regularization of structures on private land, in North, 207 applications are received for regularization of structures on Communidade land 32 on government land, the minister said.
