Following a raid on Wednesday at around 10:00pm by the Colva police a Assam native, Diganta Kalita aged 25 years was nabbed, the police also rescued a 29-year-old Gujarati girl who was allegedly pushed into prostitution. Colva police team comprising of PI Filomeno Costa, HC Vasant Velip, PC Ajay Naik, Somnath Naik and LPC Dipashvi Malik nabbed the accused in the parking lot opposite the Silver Sands hotel. He was arrested under Section 370 (a) (ii) IPC and Sections 4, 5, 6, 7 of the Immoral Trafficking Act, 1956. The accused has been taken on four days remand and further investigations are going on.
