Hastashilpi – Artisans and Weavers Welfare Association has organised the ‘Silk India Expo-2017’ from September 14 onwards at the Panjim Convention Center, Mala.
Mrs Goa 2017, Samiksha Karmalkar Harji inaugurated the six day exhibition and Former Miss Goa Kezaia Caldeira was the Guest of Honour.
On this occasion, Samiksha Karmalkar Harji said, “it is overwhelming to see a display of unique apparels, particularly silk sarees and designer wears which will attract customers on a large scale.”
“For the first time in the state of Goa, exhibitors such as silk saree weavers, handloom clusters and silk co-operative societies will be displaying and showcasing their products under one roof. The sole intention of conducting this exhibition is to make variety of unique products directly accessible to the customers,” said Abhinand, organiser of the exhibition.
The exhibition consists of 65 stalls with participation from over 18 states. Some of the items include hand block print sarees, suit and silk bed covers, designer wear and border, kurtis, hand woven matka and Assam muga fabrics, apoorva and printed silk sarees, baluchuri and embroided designer silk sarees and dress materials, Bhagalpur suits, reshmi plain and Butti sarees, Karnataka silk sarees, hand-woven sarees and much more.
