Panaji (Goa) On the eve of the legislative assembly session,   Legislative Assembly Speaker Pramod Sawant today met Governor Mridula Sinha over the current situation.

“The budget session of state legislative assembly will begin from tomorrow. Chief minister manohar parrikar would not be able to remain present for the first day of the session,” Sawant said.

He said the session was initially planned for 22 working days. “But the chief minister wont be able to attend the entire session, so we have called for revised business advisory committee meeting,” he said.

The Business Advisory Committee meeting will decide on curtailing the session, he said.

Sawant said the Governor would be received at the assembly complex by Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party minister Sudih Dhavalikar upon her arrival for the session.

When asked about the presentation of Budget, Sawant said that they are waiting for the medical updates of the chief minister to decide about it.

Earlier during the day, Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo had said that the session would be curtailed to three days during which the budget would be presented and vote on account would be passed.
