MAPUSA (GOA)
Ultracon – Margao emerged champions in the inaugural edition of the Sub Junior Badminton League organised by Apex Ladder Pvt Ltd. in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and the DSYA. In all, 10 teams competed in the Championship which concluded on Sunday at Indoor Hall, Peddem Sports Complex. The winning team comprised of Rudra Dukle, Harsh Mane, Yash Desai, Aryan Kumar, Rajat Salunke, Siya Kolwalkar and Kavya Kane. Mapusa Shuttlers, which had in its fold Aryaman Saraf, Rudra Phadte, Sarvadnya Khandeparkar, Aashutosh Dhavalikar, Manas Prabhu, Siya Kakodkar and Saanvi Akula, emerged as the runners up team after going down in a closely fought final league round match. Ultracon remained unbeaten, winning 5 out of 5 matches played during the two day championship event.
Nirmaan (Yash Halarnkar, Maaz Sheikh, Yohann Mayekar, Vedant Chauhan, Zayde Pereira, Andrea Kalavampara and Rhucha Bhobe ) emerged 3rd place winners while the 4th place was won by Fantasy Spirits (Atharv Pednekar, Suraj Naik, Abhishek Swamy, Arjun Anand, Ashraf Agha, Arnav Desai, Ruhi Mallya and Aadita Nayak).
Special Prizes were awarded to the other two Teams which qualified in the Super 6 Main Draw, namely: Apex Ladder (Chirag Mahale, Soham Kerkar, Samarth Kamat, Varad Bhobe, Tejas Sutar, Maitreyee Telang and Soumya Deshpande) and Crystal Tradelinks KTM (Elveto Dsouza, Shreyash Kalshavkar, Bleston Dias, Elias Fernandes, Adrian Dsouza, Synnovia D’ Souza and Salauni Naik).
Sports Promoters Akhil Parrikar, Manguirish Dalvi, Manoj Dukle, Venkatesh Shenai, GBA Secretary Sandeep Heble, Organising members Aniket Shenai, Shashank Desai, Kewal Sawant and Referee Roy Ataide graced the closing function.
