GOA: TENURE OF CAC EXTENDED BY ANOTHER MONTH, FINANCIAL POWERS INCREASED

Panaji (Goa) A day before its tenure getting expired, the Cabinet Advisory Committee was extended by another month, between April 01-30.

A senior official said that  the tenure of the committee is extended by another one month from April 01 till April 30. The current tenure of the committee was expiring on March 31.

The committee has met several time to discuss crucial issues like the crisis on the mining industry. Three member committee had powers to sanction funds up to Rs five crore.

“The fresh orders which were issued today has increased the financial powers of the committee to Rs ten crore,” a senior officer from State Secretariat told PTI. He said that the power of individual ministers to spend up to Rs one crore has been enhanced to Rs two crore.
