Calangute (Goa)

In a major raid conducted on 29/01/2018 during afternoon  Calangute police have busted a prostitution racket and rescued three victim girls.  PI Jivba Dalvi informed that reliable information was received about a pimp operating in Calangute area and supplying girls. Accordingly a raiding team along with NGO Scan India members Valenka Fernandes and other police staff was formed. Further the raiding team upon receiving information went to the Oceanic Pearl Guest House at Gauravado, Calangute. Further a dummy customer was sent  to the rooms of the pimp. Accordingly based on the description police immediately rounded the pimp and detained him. The pimp has been identified as Mr  Sayed S/o Masood Tanzil, age- 29 yrs N/o Nagpada,  Mumbai.  During the raid police have attached 06 mobiles phones along with cash of Rs. 15,000/-. The victim girls are native of Kolkata Mumbai and Delhi. They  have been lodged in Protective Home, Merces after obtaining orders from the  Sub Divisional Magistrate , Mapusa-Goa. Accused pimp have been lodged in police lockup and will be produced for remand. PI Jivba Dalvi informed that the pimp had procured the girls from their native place by flight and also they have sealed the guest house as it was found that the premises carrying out illegal activities of Prostitution. The raiding team was led by PI Jivba Dalvi and consisted of PSI Sitaram Malik, Kirtidas Gaude and police constables Vidyanand Amonkar, Sameer Sawant  and other staff. Police have registered offence under section 3,4,5 and 7 of Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act and section 370, 370(3) of Indian Penal Code. PI Jivba Dalvi is further investigating the case.
