GOA: UP NATIVES ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT, THEFT

Calangute (Goa):Three daily wage labourers were arrested for assaulting a local and stealing away with gold chain from him.

Govind Paswan, aged 25 years, Arun Paswan, aged 21 years and Durgesh Paswan, aged 30 years, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh are accused of forming unlawful assembly, assaulting and committing theft by snatching a gold chain. The offense occurred at a construction site during the late hours on Monday after which Anand Ayer, a resident of Candolim rushed to the Calangute police station to lodge a complaint.

Accordingly, PI Jivba Dalvi said, an offence under sections 143, 147, 148, 324, 356, 379 read with 149 IPC was registered against the non-Goan labourers. ” We traced the three accused persons and obtained police custody. During the investigation our team successfully recovered the stolen property comprising of a gold chain worth Rs 70,000,” Dalvi said.
